Homeward bound...

It's been a good week, no..actually its been one of the best weeks we have had since this journey began. As we lived through Monday with nervousness and great belief that our calculated risk of moving the whole family to the other side of Melbourne was not going to be in vain, I kept reminding myself that the universe had not lead us here without somewhere wonderful to go.

And sure enough as the sun came up Tuesday morning and I awoke after a sleepless night tossing and turning, it was finally to be the day of truth, no more guessing or wondering if we had done the right thing, having purchased our beach retreat without a guarantee of being employed nearby, today was the day Bill would find out whether there was a spot for him to join the other staff members who were being relocated to Fort Queenscliffe on the Bellarine Peninsula.. Together we took a risk and it paid off, and finally today, at the end of what seems to be a very long week, Bill's position was officially confirmed. I know that as we go to sleep tonight we can rest assured that nobody can ever take that away from us, our beautiful future and place of retirement has been cemented and after years of talking about this dream we finally know we are heading to a place where Bill can 'rest his hat'.

To say I am proud of him for securing this position he has dreamed about for the last 12 months is an understatement, he deserves it completely as he set his heart on this goal and believed in himself strongly enough to ensure it became his. If you have been following my blog you will know that living by the sea has been one of our long seated dreams and for many years we talked about it but as family commitments kept us tied to suburbia, this dream just became a distant thought without any real possibility of eventuating. It wasnt until just over a year ago, Bill was so unhappy & disillusioned by his workplace and felt physically ill everytime he stepped into the place that I knew we had to search for a new path for him before this dreaded job affected all of our lives.

When you have less than 6 years until retirement, to change direction in your career at that stage in your life takes enormous courage. It so important to try and remind ourselves of what we are all doing here, it is not to spend day in, day out at jobs which we dislike to the point of illness, or in relationships which are depleting our souls. Life is so precious that it is our responsibility to recognise that it is worth taking the time to think about what it is you want to get out of it. If you dont step up to your life, you will wake up one day and most of it will be behind you along with those dreams you thought you had time to complete.

Dont let days turn into weeks and months tun into years doing something you are not passionate about.  You owe it to yourself to invest in time for you and about you. Try just sitting and writing about what makes you tick, what makes you smile and where is the joy in your life. A simple exercise such as this will show you where you really should be.  If joy has disapeared of late, then its time to demand it back. You owe it to yourself to have fun on this 'stage' we call life. Believe me, when you do start to project your thoughts out into the universe, you do get rewarded with exactly what you think about so make your thoughts count. The key to attracting your desires into your life is to consistently believe that you are worth it, absolutely believe it is yours, it is then that you will begin to live it.

This is what we did, we knew what we wanted to do and both believed this dream could be ours. From first working out where we wanted to live then buying our home on the Bellarine Peninsula to the end result this week of securing Bill's job, these past 18 months have been nothing short of miraculous. I now know what it takes to turn your life around and can honestly say for the first time in our life, we are doing exactly what we know makes us happy and what a wonderful feeling that is.

So this post is a huge Congratulations to Bill, thankyou my love, for being brave enough to create a future for the two of us, a future we will cherish forever and discover together the newness of the next chapter in our journey.  Because of you, we now are officially...
